I dun think it's very practical to be just practicing for the sake of the match, I think you guys should practice just for the sake of getting better in whatever you like, or are suited for. I (was told) that I'm more suited for defense, but I ended up practicing more for offense. So, here I am. A weird piece of hybrid thing.

Anyway. My point here is more that you should play and lian what you like so that it's enjoyable to you (more sustainable). But of course, must xian1 ku3 hou4 tian2, so. Yea. (not that I'm one to speak. -.-lll)

On the contrary, I think that I should defend with Jia En, while someone else attack. Like JY and I were saying, our team is better in offense than defense. This would mean we could play in our own style, but the thing is our offense is not that solid either. (missed shots etc etc)

So. PFT. Okay, I'm not sure now. After thinking for awhile, I think we should do away with any sort of zone defense cause zone defense needs technique, which we don't have so... 1 on 1 might suit us more for now. But like JY said, Mr Lim chiong in we all die. So... I think before the match, we see who playing then decide.

Dribbling, I can't really teach, cause it comes from practice. But I can show you all drills that I USED to do. -.-lll (Which explains why my ball handling has deteoriated thus. T___T)

Other than hammy being hospitalized and veeny not informing us........ oohh hammy has lost lotsa brain cells and grown dumber, but thats okay we still love her anyways, other than that............. tomorrow we have bball during lunch with the teachers i think? Met ms chia after school at toh yi and told her to come play tomorrow lunch, so yeah.

I think we're going out Thursday after school and/or Saturday afternoon.. but then hammy cant make it for all. T_T

Oohhh, basically this is what Tiny and I came up with during chem lab today, and then later when i was slacking in the control room during assembly. -_- Not a very good thing to be doing during lab, but at least we werent heating anything. And at least i didnt burn the tongs while heating the test tube like i did during spa because, wells, we didnt have to heat anything at all!

Okay the idea is that we have 10 people who usually turn up (I dont know about Carissa, but if she does come play she can be pretty flexible. Like now, to conserve energy, we basically thought of 5 attacking and 5 defending. Jaye, Ham, Tiny, Veeny and I attacking, and Jiaen, tweety, tessa, jean and sarah defending. Of course the thing is pretty interchangable and all, but I think its quite okay like that. It depends on who turns up for the day too I guess..... like tiny says ham should play attack but then ham's defense is damn strong.....so i guess she cant play either? Unless she wants to run and all....

But lets say we use the 5 attacking and 5 defending thing, okie even we dont use it, tiny and i have come up with areas each of us should lian.

Venus:
-3 pointers
-layups
-interception
-dribbling
-passing
-catching

For example veeny likes 3 pointers, so we think she should do what she likes. But of course that means veeny will have to go lian her 3 pointers by herself or get tiny to teach her or something. Layups........its mostly because none of the sec 2s can do a proper and fast layup yet, and after everyone graduates and the sec 2s are left its gonna be pretty saddening. -_- Beanus' interception's good already...passing and catching is so that she can catch thunders (if we do use them) and fast passes, and to pass quickly since she's attacking. Dribbling's er....erm....everybody needs to lian their dribbling..like jaye can teach all of us or something. And then beanus can always work on her defense and rebounding just in case we're short of defenders.

Okay no idea how to train the last one =.= but then the rest are basically the same as the others, except jean's catching's pretty gd already.

So yup......... like one day we should all go lian together. Like passing.. Jia En lian with tweety, Jean lian with Sarah, Tessa lian with Venus and all.... cuz like jia en and jean their passes are harder and stronger, so tweety and sarah can lian catching and stuff and vice visa.

Diagram......cant show the diagram unfortunately, but if we play formation 2-3 the defense side will be Sarah and jean in front, tweety and jia en and tessa behind; attack side hammy and eggy in front, tiny and jaye and veeny behind. Or maybe we should put the two stronger defenders at the front, because the teachers' 3 pointers arent that good and we should force them to shoot from outside. Or we could always play some other formation. hmz. Jaye gay!!!!!!!!!!! Help!!!!!

Okay dont know what else to say. Maybe ask jaye or hammy or something. Hammy can be our dearest coachie since she's injured and cant play now! Hahaz...... and 7 dwarves tell us what you think about the above ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

Hello. Back from tuition.

Anyway. For tactics, I suggest we do 1 on 1 defence if we have more people than them. Otherwise, I'm considering doing zone defence because I have a nagging feeling we won't have enough stamina for 1 on 1.

Well, if we're doing 1 on 1, I'll take Mr Lim because of the size. 0o. Eggy should take one of the female teachers who doesn't run too much, but right now I can't think of anyone. Not Ms Chue cause she's kinda like camper, and I need Eggy to attack. So... One of the other female teachers. Jia En sticks to what she is doing. Venus.... Hmm. Venus can mark the white shirt PE guy. Jia marks the red shirt guy. Tiny... Tiny can do defence (when she wants to), but she mostly camps. So... ACK. So hard to decide. Oh, Jia can't play, so for now, I need to get someone else to mark the red shirt guy. Err.. Okay, Venus mark the red shirt guy, Sarah mark the white shirt guy. But if Tiny willing, then Tiny mark the white shirt guy instead. As for the rest of the female teachers, random can le. =X Cause I think for the female teachers, just pressure them.

Otherwise, zone defense. I would go for 2-1-2 zone defense. Or 3-2. Nah. 2-1-2. Okay. How does 2-1-2 zone defense go? Everytime our team is on defense, run back to our side of the court, 2 people stand at the sides of the free throw line, 1 person stand directly in front of basket, another 2 people stand at the first line of abc. The idea is that you don't run after people, but you defend your own area when people try to penetrate. The bad thing about this defense is it's hard to defend if there are far shooters, but I think we can take the risk, their 3 pointers isn't that good. So. Eggy in front with JY, JE in the center, Venus and I at the back. Try not to let anyone get into the paint (which is the area inside the abc lines), if they do get in, shout. We need more communication on the court, shout ya? Every one a bit quiet. =X

For attacking, if you have energy to run, go ahead. But otherwise, I think we should focus on our defence more... If we manage to intercept the ball while defending, we do fast break. Which is that you quickly attack with a layup. If the person who intercept is one of the sec2s, Eggy and I will run, quickly pass in front to us. (If you're wondering why I said the both of us, cause *dun be offended* but I think our dribbling is faster than you all) and if Tiny is camping, pass to Tiny too. That's for fast break.

During our posession of ball (after out of bounds or after they score), when bringing the ball up, someone run with whoever's dribbling, for convenience sake in case the person dribbling get defended, then faster pass to the person running with you. I suggest we play slower and use passing as our main attack, cause yea, our team doesn't have good ball handlers. ><

Yea. That's all what I think lar, but you guys should input too! I think we might not be playing tmr, unless I can get Mr Lim to play with us in the morn. Yep. Err, sms me from now on if you want to get me, cause I'm studying now. BB.

err...hello ppl! i dunno what to post. like wn said that u all should ask us how to defend? hahaha but i dunno leh i juz defend. like eggy and wn said i want the ball and so i get it. haha erm so juz keep running for the ball! =D

*points up* that was Venus. JE now. Haha I'm also not sure how to explain my defending. It's like built in after years of netball. Just be alert I suppose? Because the teachers like to thunder... Then there are usually 2-3 of them offering for that shot. One at each side and one in the centre. So what I usually do is stand in the centre and react to where the ball is going lor. Which is area defence. Or you can try doing 1 on 1 like Venus. Which is easier than area defending, but more effective if you can follow well. I dunno what else to saaaaaay hahaha :D

I thought its called bounce pass, chest pass and overhead pass. I guess its basically the same thing. To add on to what Jaye said, bounce passes should be fast and should be used against taller people. Because generally, since we're shorter and the teachers are taller, they will have to bend down more to intercept bounce passes. -_- Dont know if thats true, but thats what we learnt last time. I think it works though. Chest passes are ham's area...so...

Anyways, I dont do much of defense.....I think Jaye has to teach me the defense stance and all. About the stomach thing........ this is the first ive heard of it =x Intercepting...... ah bean is good at intercepting too.... You just try to blend in and make yourself unnoticed so that you can intercept passes. If we have too few people on defense it's harder to intercept because there're so many people the person who has the ball can pass to, so its harder to predict where to go. Therefore dont force yourself to intercept if it isnt possible. Try to force the ball to go where you want it to.

If that makes sense..................... Jia En and Ham are needed here.

Layups are the most accurate shots, so try to layup if you can. Unless your three pointer shots are VERY accurate, you should try to dribble nearer to the basket and shoot or layup instead of shooting a three pointer, especially since its more accurate this way. I dont know, but if I keep shooting three pointers and they keep missing or airing i'll feel disgrunted, so I generally stick to layups and shooting inside the circle. But then if you're like Tiny, who can make three pointers after three pointers if she's on a roll, then yeah go ahead. But I still feel that somebody should be able to lay up... like one of the sec 2s who's fast and can run..

Okay I shall post the pictures from Wednesday's CSM and bball game. Next time we shall take pictures every time we go play cuz Jaye and Ham are graduating next year =D

Firstly, let me apologize for my seriously bad attitude that day. Shouldn't have just given up like that. Yep, I will try harder for the next match which... If according to plain, should be tomorrow. But I have to confirm with the teachers, cause Mr Lim said lunch, but I just remembered that during lunch, the PE teachers have lessons. -___-lll So anyway.

I'll talk about the individual stuff first den go on to some 'tactics' -.- stuff.

Anyway, the most important things have been said by Eggy already. Please remember about the passing part. Oh yes, not only don't thunder pass, if can, try not to do high passes. Err.. That is, when you pass, there are typically 3 kinds of passes (in terms of flight, not the passing, for passing I dunno are there what? 18 types of passes? *laughs*) Anyway. One is bounce pass, the other is straight passes, (ball flies relatively straight) and the last one is lob passes where the ball flies high. Kind of common sense, but I shall just talk about it here since I like talking about bball. =X Okay. Bounce pass is good if you can do it very fast, and you typically do it if the person has his/her hands in the air, trying to block you from shooting or doing high passes, or if he's jumping. The thing is, only use it for passes with short distances. Then, straight passes are what I like most, if you can do it fast like Jia, it's damn shuang. But can't travel as far as high passes. Err... I suspect it's easier to intercept than bounce pass, but I'm not sure. =X (Okay, for me, I use bounce and straight passes interchangably.) Lastly lob passes. Lob passes are SLOW AS HECK. So when playing with the teachers, if possible PLEASE DONT do lob passes. Firstly, cause the teachers are faster than most of us, secondly, they are taller, thirdly, they jump higher. All of which renders lob passes easy as heck to intercept. So yea.

Okay. Dribbling. Emm.. For the sec2s, your dribbling isn't too good yet, so when going down court, try to pass more than dribble. If you're going to dribble, remember to keep your heads up. If you look down, you're not going to see what's going on around the court, you don't know who's around you and who to pass to. So please look up. Secondly, if possible, don't stop dribbling until you see someone to pass to. Only then do you stop dribbling. Cause by stopping your dribble, you're kinda like cornering yourself to either pass or shoot. When you dribble, three things to keep in mind, low stance (bend your knees!), heads up (look for open ppl and ppl around you trying to get the ball), and PROTECT the ball! To protect the ball, you can use ur body to block the person, or use your free hand, position it in front, near the ball, so that if someone tries to take the ball, prevent him using ur free hand!

Oh ya, very important. DON'T backcourt. Backcourt means, when you (attacking) bring the ball to the half court line, you can't pass it backwards into your defense half anymore.

Err. What else. Okay. Defense. Jia En has been doing great, I think we all owe it to her, so must thank her ya? Venus as well. Okay, I have zero tips for intercepting, so you have to ask JE or Eggy or JY. I'm a rebounder. So. Rebounding, which I doubt most of you will be doing. But in case you are, the best tip I can give is to really want the ball. By wanting the ball more badly than your opponent, I think you're more than halfway there. Because when you want the ball, you'll really do all you can to get it. You'll really try your hardest.

But in terms of skills for defending, one thing. Stay low. You must always be lower than your opponent. As for where you should focus on, diff. people will tell you diff. things. For me, I focus on the ball, and if I'm playing against someone like myself, I'll focus on the person's stomach. If I'm right, Jia focuses on the person's stomach as well, but I'm not too sure. What's the difference? I think if you focus on the ball, it's easier for you to cut the person's dribble, but it's easier for the person to trick you too. (Cause your eyes follow the ball, not his movements). And if you focus on the person's stomach, it's more like trying to stop him from going forward and hindering/irritating him rather than trying to intercept the ball. (Stomach moves last, so when he fakes, you can tell.) But if you want to know who to learn from, I think the two best people are JE and Venus. JE is... I got nothing to say. But in defense, I think she's the best out of all of us. Venus... Venus, not to offend her, but in terms of defense skill, she has less than some of us, but in terms of defense, she's good. Why? Cause like Eggy says, she really wants the ball.You can tell. Which is why she makes up for it, and becomes a good as heck defender. :D:D

Shooting, I really can't say anything except seriously, seriously, seriously, seriously, DON'T force shots. I think that was the number 1 thing that irritated me on Friday. -.-lll I mean, think of the people defending for you, trying to get the ball, and then you don't do anything and just waste the ball, it's very......... Ya. There's nothing much to say for shooting cause that just comes from practicing. Don't solo unless you really can.

Woah Tiny is amazingly and surprisingly on.

Okie, first things first. Are we gonna change the blogskin or keep to it? Since when were we gonna play bball on the 10th and oh great i forgot what else. Tiny I can tell who's posting hahas....unlike you. And please please please dont twit your language so much its so hard to read!!!!! Which is pretty saddening after all...

To sum up what Tiny said, even though there isnt much summing to do, there are a few things you shouldnt do for monday's game.

1. Do NOT solo unless you are fairly certain you can make the shot
This basically means that if someone is defending you, pass the ball. Do not attempt to dribble from one end of the court to the other all by yourself. If you can, pass the ball down towards the end of the court, especially if your team mate is free and you have a defender sticking with you. This allows you to conserve your energy as you dont have to dribble all the way down. Make your pass fast and quick, and do not dilly dally because this gives your opponent time to run down for defense. This way, it allows your team mates to have a clear shot at the basket and a better chance at scoring.

2. Do NOT waste shots (i.e. do not shoot when someone is standing right in front of you
One of the most basic things. If someone is standing right in front of you, you do not shoot, because you will be gai4, especially since the teachers can jump high. Only make the shot if it is a clear shot. If not, pass the ball. We have the advantage of having more people, so definitely not everyone will have a defender sticking to them. Your team mates work hard at rebounding and intercepting the balls; do not waste shots as this will let their efforts go to waste.

3. Do NOT thunder pass
Okay, this is a mistake even I continue to make. Only thunder if there are no defenders who can jump higher than you around, and thunder only if you know your team mate will be able to catch it. As all the teachers' vertical jump are higher than ours, try not to thunder if they are around.

Okay, cant think of much else, but we should probably ask Jaye to post. Oh yes, one thing that Jaye and I were discussing during cca on friday was tactics. That'll we need jaye to explain, but basically, friday's game was really lousy because all of us were extremely off form. Only Jia En played well, and yes, I agree with tiny and jaye that someone has to help Jia En. On Friday's game there were about two or three teachers attacking, which means Jia En alone had to defend the two or three of them. What i'm saying is that someone should stay behind and help defend, instead of everyone running to attack or running up and down the court. Jaye and jia can play either attack or defense, but they cant do both because even if they are running up and down the court, they wont have the energy to make it back in time to defend, especially since the teachers keep on thundering. Basically, this means that Jia En alone is STILL the only person on defense. Jia's defense is good, but then on Friday the people who were playing attack were wasting balls, so she had to run back and forth and up and down and upside down. Which resulted in her banging into people and getting a mild concussion. -.o

Okay, so if you want your mistakes pointed out go find Jaye or something. But roughly all i know is that-

1. Jean- do not solo and do not waste shots. Do not keep your eyes on the ball all the time because this way you will not be able to see where you are going and often you run straight into your defenders. Try to pass, because even when you have one or two defenders sticking to you you still try to dribble down the court and lose the ball. Do not force your shots i.e. do not shoot when you have someone standing right in front of you, especially if they're taller. You know how to layup, (YAY! XD) so try to use it instead if possible. If all fails, pass.

2. Sarah- dont remember much....but i think you were probably playing midfield? Try to stay on either court though, like either play attack or defense, cuz people playing attacker or defender can just run halfway and all. If you're playing attack, try so shoot more, especially since you're usually open. And do not do not pass to someone who has a defender sticking with them!! Confidence gal, kae? Haha just remember to jiayou!

3. Tweety- YOU DIDNT EVEN COME *GLARES* hahas.

4. Tessa- Awesome passing.. try not to force your shots when someone tall is standing over you, so dont shoot. You should lian on your passing... harder, faster..then it'll be good! Try not to use too much strength when you're shooting, and AIM before you shoot kae?

5. Veeny- Good job ah bean! Can tell that you WANT the ball, which is very very important, because if you WANT the ball, you will GET the ball. Very good defense and interceptions hahas. You were mostly intercepting on friday i think? Try defending or attacking..... like i know you dont like lay ups -__- but you said you liked three pointers so if you have time try to lian on it and get tiny to teach you or something.

6. Carissa- Dont remember much....try to run more.. dont use so much strength like tessa and jean and try to aim. You're tall, JUMP!!!!!!!

7. Jia En- AWESOME job....like you were damn on form compared to t he rest of us. Like you were defending so many people at the same time!!! I think you can intercept thunders haha.....so jiayou and catch it from mr lim and teachers!!!!!!!!!!!

Okay, I have successfully concluded on what NOT to do, now its jaye's turned to tell us what we should be doing instead.

Dear YES-so tiny, shara, and all the people who have the privilege to read this

Yes Tiny I remembered the audience. That was an address to the audience from their beloved president, and I hope you could see it. But just in case, since it is likely that you did not, for the membrane surrounding your brain is too thick, I am telling you now that that was an address.

And yes, I will remember to put in a title this time. Hopefully. Unfortunately 90% of the things you tell me slip my brain for some reason. I think it has become a general trend, because some stuff are too INSIGNIFICANT.

Haha. Shara. You want to know why we don’t have any members. Interesting question! Now let us all sit in front of the computer and ponder over this question. Why don’t we have any members!? Lets see. We shall all stare at Shara. YOU created the blacklist. And Tiny’s cousin is gonna join some day once we meet her I think. Jaye and Jia are automatically in because this club was created for them. And izumi will join after eoys I think. So yay this lame club will have lame people who loves to be lame. And it makes perfect sense!

And I did not crack! See! Perfect condition. As usual of course. Haha. I am most amused indeed Shara. It is not often to see you being lame because you’re the one always calling me lame. And remember you and Tiny are half a person each!

EOYS are 7/9 finished! Horray!! Yay yay yay!! We shall all jump up and down and celebrate! This year eoys so slack! Don’t even feel stressed haha. I ended up playing more and watching tv more and reading more but studying a bit more too also. Not stressed cuz this year like very easy like that. And we started early! Haha see you shouldn’t procrastinate Shara and tiny. And yesterday’s math paper so fun!

I am most honored to be bestowed upon such an honor and I proudly acknowledge that fact. And you know what? The same day she said that, she told me I needed a makeover. Arghh!!! My little cousin just told me she’s gonna give me a makeover when I see her in the summer! Actually not so little, and its forever summer in stuffy hot Singapore, but that’s besides the point. And my mom tells me I should stop being so mischievous and playful and cheeky. Grrrrrrrrr. Everyone’s ganging up on poor darling eggy.

And now, Tiny and Shara, we have to plan our timetable for after eoys! There’s still Shara’s and the sec four’s farewell party to plan for! And all we have decided as of yet is that its for Shara and the sec 4s and that it will be at Jaye’s house. Isnt that such a wonderful accomplishment? But then again, we are all under achievers. Oh yeah. Jaye says we should order pizza instead of having a BBQ. What do you think? And of course I have to agree with Jaye! And we can go play basketball too! Ohh it’ll be heavenly.
